What You Need for a Successful Remote Online Notarization
🏛️ Professional Legal Disclaimer & Compliance Standards
🛡️ Missouri Commission & National Jurisdiction: I am a professional Notary Public commissioned and bonded in the State of Missouri. I perform Remote Online Notarization (RON) in strict accordance with RSMo § 486.1115.
Interstate Recognition: Indiana law explicitly recognizes notarial acts performed by out-of-state notaries public under IC § 33-42-9-8. Under this statute, a notarial act performed in another state is presumed valid and has the same effect as a notarial act performed by an Indiana notarial officer, provided it is performed by an individual authorized by the laws of that state.
Technology & Security: Our sessions are conducted on a secure, encrypted platform that utilizes multi-factor authentication (KBA), credential analysis of government-issued IDs, and high-definition audio-video recording. These security measures align with the rigorous standards set forth in IC § 33-42-17, ensuring your Indiana records—from Marion County property deeds to automotive logistics contracts—meet the highest standards of digital verification and long-term integrity.

🏠 2026 Property Tax Reform: The New Credit System
Indiana has transitioned from property tax deductions to direct credits for 2026. If you missed the January 15, 2026 deadline to re-apply, or if your auditor has requested further proof of eligibility, we can help:
Over-65 Circuit Breaker Credit: This new credit caps your property tax liability increases at 2% per year. For 2026, income limits have increased to $60,000 (single) and $70,000 (couples). We notarize the income affirmations and 2024 Federal Tax Return verification statements required by County Auditors.
Over-65 Credit ($150): The previous "Over 65 Deduction" is now a direct $150 credit. If your home is held in a Revocable Trust, you may still need to provide a notarized Certification of Trust to prove beneficiary residency.
Blind or Disabled Credit: The state has moved to a more generous $125 credit. We provide secure RON for the Physician’s Statement and disability affirmations required for first-time applicants or those whose status has changed.
Homestead Supplemental Update: For 2026, the supplemental homestead deduction has increased to 40%. We notarize the Form 43708 supplemental filings if your primary residence status is being audited.
🚗 Indiana BMV: Titles & Power of Attorney
While Indiana does not require a notary for a standard private car sale, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) mandates notarization for specific legal transfers and representative actions:
Transfer Without Administration (Form 18733): If you are inheriting a vehicle from a small estate (under $100,000) without probate, this form must be notarized. We provide secure multi-party RON sessions so all heirs can sign from different locations.
Limited Power of Attorney (Form 1940): If you cannot attend a BMV branch in person and need someone to sign title or registration documents for you, their authority must be notarized.
Affidavit of Ownership (Form 23037): Applying for a title on a vehicle where the previous title is missing or insufficient? This sworn statement must be notarized before the BMV will issue a new Certificate of Title.
One and The Same Person Affidavit (Form 13637): We notarize the name-discrepancy affidavits required when your ID does not perfectly match the name on a vehicle title.
🏫 Education: IU, Purdue & Ball State Residency
The University System of Indiana enforces a strict 12-month domicile rule for in-state tuition. To qualify, you must prove your primary purpose for being in Indiana is not just education:
IU Residency Application: Students under 24 claiming emancipation must provide notarized statements from their parents indicating the level of financial support provided.
Parents Moving to Indiana: If your residency is based on your parents moving to the state, they must provide a notarized statement detailing the reason for the move and the disposition of their previous residence.
Purdue Residency Reclassification: For the Fall 2026 semester, residency petitions are typically due by the end of the first week of classes. We provide secure RON for the Affidavit of Intent and support statements needed for these high-stakes appeals.
⚖️ Statutory Authority: Your Out-of-State RON Advantage
Indiana law (IC 33-42-17) fully authorizes RON, and the state explicitly recognizes notarizations performed by out-of-state notaries under IC 33-42-0.5-3. By using our Missouri-based RON service, Indiana residents gain:
Full Legal Validity: Documents notarized by our Missouri commission are legally binding in Indiana and accepted by all 92 County Auditors, the BMV, and University Registrars.
Superior Record Retention: Missouri law (RSMo § 486.1195) requires us to maintain a secure audio-video recording of your session for 10 years. This matches or exceeds Indiana’s standards, providing a decade of protection for your property and legal filings.
Identity Verification: We utilize state-mandated Credential Analysis and Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA), ensuring your digital signature is as secure as a wet-ink signature in an Indiana government office.
