Preparing for Your In-Person I-9 Verification Appointment
To ensure a smooth and efficient I-9 verification, please take a moment to review the following important details for your upcoming appointment with your Notary Public.
Before Your Notary Arrives:
-
Review Your I-9 Form: It is essential that you read through the I-9 Verification Form completely before your Notary's arrival. Familiarizing yourself with the form beforehand will help ensure a seamless process.
-
Gather Original Identification: Please have all requested original identification documents ready for physical inspection. The Notary Public is required to view your original documents; photocopies cannot be accepted for verification.
-
Prepare Copies (If Required by Employer): If your employer (the receiving party) requires copies of your identification to be sent back with your I-9 form, it is your responsibility to make high-quality color copies before your appointment. You may then request that the Notary initial these copies.
During Your Appointment:
-
Timeliness is Key: We kindly ask that you be ready promptly at your scheduled appointment time. Your Notary's time is valuable, and we appreciate your consideration.
-
15-Minute Grace Period: Please note that we allow a 15-minute waiting period from the Notary's arrival if you are not yet prepared.
-
Appointment Readiness: If the Notary must cancel the appointment due to your unpreparedness or if the necessary identification is not available, the appointment fee will be non-refundable. Notaries cannot be responsible for issues arising from unready identification.
My goal is to make your I-9 verification as straightforward as possible. Your cooperation in preparing beforehand helps us provide you with the best service.
